Since 2012, the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Puerto Rico has partnered with different educational institutions to offer GED preparation classes to our participants in our office or the Department of Education of Puerto Rico.
The U.S. Probation Office for the District of Puerto Rico has partnered with the Puerto Rico Department of Family Affairs to provide in-house parenting classes. The targeted group are new releasees with children, clients that have been ordered to attend parenting classes by Court, or referred by their U.S. Probation Officer.
The Second Chance Closet was created to assist persons currently released from incarceration that do not have the resources or other help in obtaining their wardrobe. It also provides professional attire for those clients getting ready for employment interviewing and placement. In general, it is available for clients as requested and it also provides basic toiletries. This service is free of cost and feeds from donations from employees of the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Puerto Rico.
